| LCHS, Ońate Teams Win Awards in Supercomputing Challenge |

THREE STUDENTS AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS AT CHALLENGE
LAS CRUCES – A student team from Las Cruces High School took second place and a team from Ońate High School received an honorable mention during the 16th annual Supercomputing Challenge held April 24-25, 2006 at Los Alamos National Laboratory. A second team from LCHS and a second team from Ońate were finalists in the competition. The teams also won other special awards, and three students from the two schools received scholarships during the competition.
The winning teams and there awards were
• Team 43 from LCHS, comprised of Julia Silva, Alan Hshieh and Daniel Parrott, won second place in the overall competition. Each student received a $500 savings bond for the team’s project, “Can You See the Hot Spots?” Their teacher, Grez Ma
