LAS CRUCES – Conlee Elementary School fifth-grade teacher Julio de la Peña has been accepted as a member of the National Honor Roll’s Outstanding American Teachers of 2005-06.
de la Peña will receive a certificate of commendation and a copy of the 2005-06 National Honor Roll publication. In addition, notification of the award has been sent to New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, United States Senators Pete Domenici R-N.M. and Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M., and all New Mexico school principals.
National Honor Roll's Outstanding American Teachers was established to recognize exceptional teachers who have made a difference in their communities.
